The YIMBY Election - 2024 Council Election Results

The votes are in! While counting continues, Sydney YIMBY members should be proud of our impact on local elections.

Of the 60 candidates who signed our pledge, almost half of them have been elected. 

We knew housing would be on the ballot at this year's local government elections.

That’s why we asked hundreds of candidates to sign the Sydney YIMBY pledge and commit to building more housing of every type in their community in this council term. 

Thank you to everyone who contacted their local candidates and encouraged them to sign the pledge. Thank you also to the candidates who signed - we need to elect more of you!

While counting will continue for another week, here are the YIMBY candidates who we believe are likely to be elected. 

We encourage our members to reach out to these councillors and work with them locally to build a movement for more housing in their communities.
