Sydney for Everyone Pledge

Dear Council Candidate,

Sydney is in the midst of a housing supply crisis, with record low rental vacancy rates inflicting huge rent increases and causing queues around the block at inspections. Essential workers are subjected to punishing commutes or forced to move to other states where housing costs less.

Councillors can play a big role in resolving this crisis by designing Local Environment Plans that build more housing where people want to live, and best utilise existing transport infrastructure.

Sydney YIMBY is calling on candidates who want that to happen to sign the Sydney For Everyone Pledge:

I believe that building more housing of any type, market or non-market, improves affordability.

I pledge to increase the density of my council. I will vote for strategic planning schemes that co-locate dense housing types with transport networks and town centres. I will support planning policies that increase the diversity of housing types and tenures available in my community.

If you don’t see anybody from your council area or ward listed below, please email your candidates with our webform to ask them to sign!

Current signatories are listed below this form (updated 7 September).
